We are a source of energy that inspires! A leading pan-African strategic brand marketing and communications group, with a unique intersection of business strategy, brand design, marketing communications and innovative technology.  We never really resonated with calling ourselves an agency, as we really are so much more than that. Our passion for great design, based on a deep understanding of the business strategy, mixed with a love of technology, has always set us apart.

As a team there are a few things we really believe in: working as team is one of them, caring about our clients and their business is another. Doing really good work that delivers real results – well, that is the heart of the engine.

Leeanne
Cape

CEO

The leader of the pack, a strategic powerhouse, and most importantly, a really good woman (Paul can second this). With skills too many to list, it would be better for you to chat with the lady yourself.

Leeanne started her first technology business at age 19 and has not looked back since, creating Quazar in 2002 to support her business strategy consulting business she has become a leading business and brand strategist, especially in Financial Services.

Kelly is the glue that keeps the clients happy, the studio busy and SA Breweries in business. Did someone say beer o’clock?

The person with her fingers in all the pies – Tracy knows a little bit about a lot of things. Always looking for ways to make things better and hopefully not more complicated.

Tracy’s two decades behind the scenes in a variety of industries have helped her gain deep insight into what makes businesses, clients and people tick, and how to create order from even the most challenging chaos.

Creative Director

This Scottish immigrant made Cape Town his home over 30 years ago. Yes, he still seems like a spring chicken, but don’t let that deceive you.

Handy with a pencil and sketchpad for making  ideas come to life. Just add beer.

Having studied branding and advertising in Cape Town, Kris has been in the industry long enough to see the transition from conventional advertising (old school) into the new digital realm, working with clients in the UK and throughout Africa. Creative by nature, responsible through actions.

Head of Digital

Cutting his teeth in old school advertising, Bruce is our guru with all things digital.

Bruce qualified as Graphic Designer at Natal Technikon. His career spans a multitude of disciplines including Creative Director, Art Director, and Technical Director. In his spare time (not that he has much) he designs and makes custom knives.

Paul
Cape

Operations Director

The man with the second strangest accent in the office hails from Derby in the UK. No, we also don’t know where that is, but it didn’t stop Paul from coming to Cape Town and making an impact in various businesses – most importantly, Quazar. 

Paul has a Master’s degree in Leadership & Management along with Honours degrees in Economics and Sociology. He has applied these to his thirty-plus years in managing and consulting for businesses in both the UK and South Africa.

Timothy
Sabwelera

Business Analyst

Timothy is a rare hybrid cross between Software Developer and Business Analyst. He bridges the gap between our clients and dev team, making sure everyone understands each other. Timothy is also playing the role of lead developer, taking the team to the next level in the expanding digital environment. 

Timothy qualified for a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Software Development from Nelson Mandela University.

Kevin

Software Developer

The man who can whisk up a digital emailer quicker than a scrambled egg, Kev manages to get all of our digital comms to our client bases on time and looking spankingly good.

Just like himself.

Kevin has grown with the company, having taken on the intense task of organising emailers to support our clients’ events, to become a valued member of the development team.

Our digital butterfly has spread her wings over the past few years and is now pretty much telling us all what to do. Who to do it with. And when.

Simone has a BA in politics and journalism from Rhodes University.

Talk about being animated! Our powerhouse and GROOT supplier of all things that move in the digital world, Zackles brings balance to our tweede taal skills in the office, creates some sh!t hot designs and is an absolute Stodels addict. 

Zack is a qualified graphic designer with a passion for animation.

Lucia is a dab hand at keeping all of our numbers in check. Keeping us on the straight and narrow financially and our heads above water in cash flow.

Lucia is a qualified tax practitioner as well as an experienced bookkeeper and accountant and has had the privilege of being involved with Quazar for over 15 years.

A modern-day Sherlock Holmes who unravels the methodologies of software development – which may seem simplistic to the untrained eye, but that’s what makes it so good. Sello sits as our in-house web developer and focuses on financial modelling software that streamlines key decision-making pain points.

Digital Developer

With a voice as smooth as Sinatra, just like his web development skills, Louis is our go-to guy for WordPress and front end development.

Louis qualified with a Diploma in IT and has around 5 years of experience working with WordPress and web builds. He specializes in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

If Shakespeare was alive today, he would have his work cut out with our copywriting maestro. Jeanette writes copy that cuts through the noise of advertising and allows your brand to reach its desired target audience with ease.

Our first point of contact over the phone, Nikki is pretty much the voice of Quazar. Her punctuality of punching the 3pm drinks alarm is a sight to behold. Consistency is key she says.

Nikki not only takes care of all things office based in Quazar but is responsible for securing and managing production and events logistics.

With a fondness for all things creative, Kelly delights in hot chocolate over coffee (surprising, we know!), and finds solace in the melodies of country songs. On weekends, she explores Cape Town’s charm with loved ones and unwinds in the company of her two cats, Clara and Charlie. Originally hailing from Durbs, Kelly adds a touch of coastal flair to her remarkable artistic journey.

She’s a seasoned Copywriter and Content Producer with experience at Mortimer Harvey, Avon, TFG (The Foschini Group), PropertyFox, and Mikateko Media. She studied Journalism and Media at the University of the Witwatersrand and Cape Peninsula University of Technology, giving her a strong foundation in writing and research. Her skills include copywriting, editing, scriptwriting, and social media management. When she’s not busy, she enjoys watching local soap operas and being a dedicated mom to her little girl.

A churchgoer, anime enthusiast, and avid reader, Owin thrives as a full-stack developer with a charming French accent. While ICT wasn’t her initial academic pursuit, she’s found her natural habitat in this dynamic field. Guided by the supportive members of her team, she embarks on her promising journey, grateful for the path she’s chosen.

Boasting two decades of experience across every facet of the system development cycle, she’s a seasoned expert in her field. Tlatso finds immense satisfaction in spotting flaws – a bit like a teacher armed with a red pen, diligently ensuring everything is in perfect order. When she steps out of the tech world, Tlatso transforms into a dance instructor, sharing her passion for movement during moments away from the realm of technology.

The client, part of South Africa’s largest financial institution, realised that it was not a platform destination of choice for the IFA market in SA. In an effort to address this valuable market and to futureproof their business they undertook to build a new investment platform. With this platform they needed to gain clarity and certainty on the appropriate brand and positioning to penetrate a highly competitive market and grow market share quickly.
Process 
We undertook a comprehensive global and local audit and research program, talking to current users of the brand as well as the target market IFAs. We looked at global trends and analysed behaviour across 3 markets. We spoke to competitors, partners and staff and then we made a recommendation. Created a new independent brand focused only on the IFA. Becoming the one thing an IFA really needed – a partner in their corner with no agenda other than to enable and facilitate their growth which would ultimately result in the platform growth.
Outcome
INN8 a fintech investment platform brand “Changing the way investments are done in South Africa by becoming “The Adviser’s Partner.” We created the brand and developed its narrative and we launched it into a very tough closed market. To this day, we’re still punching above our weight and getting above industry average engagement across all our touch points.
